Let's have a party - a fabric do!
This golden, peaceful time of the year
is what I treasure perhaps the most. It's the season for creativity indoors, for
invigorating walks in the old sweater carrying only the basket for all the mushrooms I'm
collecting. I've found some good willow branches to cut and strip in springtime; they're
suited as hangers for my quilts. The state of mind is fine, creativity blooming at the
same time as the flowers on my balcony leave their beauty and fragrance behind. On the
wall in my sewingroom there's a Swedish proverb:
Do what you like doing, and like what you
do. I'll give myself this promise: Don't feel tempted to buy all the extra equipment on
offer in quilting shops; don't sew any gifts for a while, just make what appeals to you
without a thought for precision and demands from those around you. Don't worry - be happy!
The decision is made. And the result? Never has the joy of sewing been greater!
